The Courage Ride was started in 2008 to benefit the Courage Lion Program.  The first Courage Ride took place on October 11, 2008. There was $405 dollars raised which helped support 27 children with a lion, book and CD.

The ride was started because of the passion and belief in what the Courage Lion Program stand for. When my son was born he was not breathing. It seemed like forever before we heard him cry for the first time.  I was able to kiss him and then he was rushed to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Thanks to the Lord he was released after five days.  We spent the next two years in and out of the doctors office and hospitals.

I met John Ramming, President of Courage Unlimited, at my place of business. I purchased Duffy, the courage lion, and brought him home to my son. He quickly became attached to Duffy. During the two years we were in and out of hospitals and doctors offices we had always had Duffy in tow. He became a great comfort tool and still is to this day. Whenever he is sick or upset you can find him cuddled up with Duffy.

There are children all around the world that need this type of comfort and that is where we can help.  As bikers what do we love to do? Ride our motorcycles that is!  So why not ride and raise money for this cause at the same time! So join us every year on the second Saturday of October to help out those children in need of a little Courage.
